It’s annoying when you need to open a file that’s been sent to you only to find that you need some expensive piece of software to access it. You know how it is, someone sends you a psd file but you don’t own photoshop. What do you do? It’s happened to us all. But there are places out there that can help: Continue reading »
If you’re like me I am sure there are times where you receive a lot of emails at once, like the first day back in the office after a break. All those emails can be a little over loading, you hunt through them deciding what order to attack them, which are urgent and need dealing with and then which can wait till later. Once you have decided that you then mark the ones that need dealing with later. This is great until you forget about the ones you marked for dealing with later. We’ve all done it, marked an email to be looked at and then forgotten about it until the client phones up asking where the reply is. This is where Hit Me Later comes in.
Like many people I’ve been addicted to Stumble Upon for a while, I’ve found it useful for bringing many sites and services to my attention that I would have other wise missed. There are plenty of web masters out there that have found the increase in traffic that Stumble Upon can bring if one blog post gets a “Thumbs Up”, there are plenty of rather long blog post out there that discuss the virtues of SU verses other sites such as Digg and twitter.
Stumble Audio is a new take on the Stumble Upon theory, just like Stumble Upon Video allows you to stumble through the various videos currently doing the rounds, Stumble Audio allows a user to select a channel and stumble through random bands/songs on this channel and listen to their track free of charge.
It has no links to SU or eBay however. Its a good idea in theory and a good way for new bands to get exposure to an audience they wouldn’t normally reach. Each time a track is played the artist receives payment, and at the side are links to various on line stores where the music can be downloaded. Songs can be rated just like in SU.
Certainly worth a look if you are bored of shuffle on your iTunes!
It’s taken a while but it would seem Adobe have finally decided to get in on the act as far as online photo editing goes. They’ve released a web version of their ever popular photo editing software Photoshop. It comes with online storage for your photos (at a reasonable space of 2 Gig), as well as the ability to create and share albums out to your friends and family. Continue reading »
Been a while since i posted anything on here, mainly because I’ve been rushed off my feet. Changes a foot at work have taken over my life it would seem.
Something don’t change though, I still look for tools to make my life easier. As part of my work I support a program with a database back end that can get fairly large. Sometimes larger than the size limit of most email accounts, so I have spent a lot of time looking for ways around this, ways of getting a file to my network from a clients when the file is bigger than a few Meg.
