The Pinged Hobbit

It’s been a while since I last posted anything to this blog. Infact I haven’t posted sicne before I went to Peru and that was at the end of October. Things have been a little hectic since then. Work has kept me busy, my social life seems to have suddenly become very busy.

Peru was an even better experience than I hoped for. Despite the fact that I suffered altitude sickness quite badly during the trek I still managed to make it to the top. It was more than worth the feeling of my heart about to explode on the way up there!

I now find myself once again looking to take up my blogging activities, to share some of the useful tips and items I find as I look around the web. Hopefully I will manage to keep this up over the coming weeks

Any regular reader of this blog might have noticed a lapse in postings over the last few days. It’s not that my appetite for posting my rambling has diminished, far from it. I still have the urge to clear my mind on a regular basis. I am however at the moment rather distracted as I prepare for my forth coming trip to Peru.

This time next week I will be getting ready to fly away for 16 days to South America and hopefully an interesting journey. During my time away I doubt there will be many posts, I wont be taking a laptop with me or a phone so no I wont have Internet access when I want. As a self confessed technology junkie I am not sure how I will react to this sudden flash back to my pre-computer youth. This will be the first time in over 10 years I have not had regular access to the Internet, I have a feeling I may suffer culture shock a lot harder than I suffer altitude sickness!

Rest assured on my return I will have hopefully documented my travels, both visually and in the written word and will only be too happy to share it with anyone interested!

Mention writer’s block and everyone thinks of the fiction writer who in the middle of writing a book suddenly comes a to a point where they cant decide where to take the story next. All the plans for character development and plot line go out the window. Others will see it more as the writer who cant even come up with a new story to write, stuck in the limbo between the completed story and the next work to be undertaken.

But writer’s block isn’t something confined to only people writing books. I always see writer’s block as a lack or loss of inspiration and that can affect anyone who is trying to create/build something. This includes people working in a technical field as well as artistic. Continue reading »
