So as I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m trying my hand at programming in C# for a upcoming project at work. So far I’ve enjoyed myself, I did C when I was at uni, I used Microsoft Visual C to program in and I have previously worked in Visual Basic, so using the nice little Visual C# Express tool that Microsoft have released I have been able use the IDE with out much hassle as I’m used to it.

So far I’ve managed to build some nice little forms, and get my head around mdi forms. Everything was going hokey dokey till I came to actually trying to do something useful, like connecting to an sql database. The only previous work I have done with sql is in php via an MySQL server. Realistically there isn’t too much difference between how different programming languages connect to an SQL database, but for some reason I cant make my C# programs connect even though every tutorial I look at on the subject gives near enough the same connection line. I may actually have to go so far as to ask help on this one
